The brief
The client wanted a championship-style ring as a gift to himself, marking 13 years in business. The brief combined 9K rose gold, natural diamonds and raised gold initials set with diamonds.
This was a personal business milestone, expressed through a substantial ring designed around the client’s initials.
The design decisions
The design combines round brilliant-cut and baguette-cut natural diamonds. The baguette diamonds were manufactured to size specifically for this ring, allowing their proportions to suit the diamond-set initials.
The main challenge was sourcing diamonds of the correct sizes and planning their placement so they sat flush to the edges without gaps, creating a seamless finish. The client reviewed and approved the CAD design before making began.
Making the piece
The ring was cast from the approved CAD design, then assembled, diamond-set and finished by hand. Made in-house by Xclusive Diamonds, the completed piece is 9K rose gold with 9 ct of natural diamonds in total.
Making took four weeks after CAD approval. This was the actual making time for this ring; each bespoke commission has its own production timeline.
The finished result
The finished championship-style ring brings together raised gold and diamond-set initials, a diamond-covered top and shoulders, and the number 13 to mark the client’s business milestone.
